Stereo samples

WaveSurgeon supports the use of stereo samples. Load them as any other sample; however, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

Linked and independent modes

When a stereo sample is loaded, a dropdown box will appear on the file toolbar, set to æL + RÆ û linked mode. This means that editing is virtually identical to mono samples. Sound banks and wave files will be saved in stereo, and only one midi file will be saved.

However, choose æL / RÆ for independent mode (check the dropdown box). The editing points will duplicate to the left and right channels. In this mode, each channel will now have independent split points, and this means that, when wave files, midi files, or SoundFonts are saved, two files will be saved, one suffixed left, and one suffixed right (e.g., æWave01L.wavÆ and æWave01R.wavÆ). Two midi files will also be saved. You may convert between the two modes; bear in mind that when moving from independent to linked mode, similar points will be converted to just one point.

You may work with just one channel at a time by clicking the Left Channel / Right Channel menu options from the View menu.
